How to approach potential targets for my business?
Wednesday, November 4th, 2009I’m curently involved in a small business involving the Telecommunication Industry here in Malaysia. I have targeted mainly coll. students for the market. I tried calling a small institute asking permission to do some promotion there…but the guy seems very dumb n not clear…what should I do?
You should write an outline of your goals, and your objectives. Make sure it is very clear, and shows exactly what you want to accomplish.
Then put your goals together in a written business plan. Write a report that shows everything about your business and how you are going to operate it.

After you have a clear presentation in writing, then research all the targets, in your area, for your business. List all the potential targets, and start a file for each one. As you contact each one, keep detailed notes in your file. Perhaps the person you were speaking to at the institute was not a decision maker. Review what his objections were, and find ways to counter his objections to your offer.
If your business is limited to only targeting college students, and one small institute, then you might decide to get involved in a different business. Find a business with more potential customers. If your current business is confusing to you, and filled with problems, and dead ends, then find a business more suited to your talents.
Good luck.
