What do you think about a National Sale tax to bail out the Medicare System?

Wednesday, February 10th, 2010

What if we had a 1 cent sale tax through out the nation to raise revue to help bail out the Medicare System?

Then after we get that paid off, why not use the same sale tax idea to bail out Social Security System?

This would be a common sense approach?

the idea of having EVERYONE that buys something contribute to the mess is a good one…Local 1 cent Sales taxes have worked well all over this nation….this way EVERYONE that buys ANYTHING helps to get us out of this mess

the point made in several answers is that it would never end – it would go up…..Fix that in the language of the bill BEFORE it is passed

And also addressing some more of your answers that you have received….those in politics need to LEAD the way in the spending CUTS in their political office (salary – office staff – travel expenditures – etc…..)YES they DO…… HOWEVER….we can not WAIT for these politicians to LEAD us down a financial responsible path….We the People are the ones that shall take the lead…..

There are three ways to approach the creation of a new system?

Monday, February 8th, 2010

Develop a custom application in house
Buy a packaged system and customise it
Rely on external party to build it

Describe each of these three design choices and suggest what criteria should be used when making a selection.

When you create a new system there things you need to take into considerations, importantly the users of your system since all your design and UI’s will be based off of that.

Here are the three things I can offer:

1. Research about the system you’re trying to create if it’s already existing, that way you save time in creating functionalities, many of the application systems now have open-source version you might want to look at these first since it’s free.

2. Find out any API’s available to extend that existing system other wise you may have to build your own.

3 Design is most important (not the appearance) but the user experience, the simpler it is for user the better system it is. Then you can modify and enhance cosmetics as you go along.

Is there any particular system you’re trying to build?

Hope this helps

Compare and contrast the model countries & identify one distinct approach to criminal justice?

Friday, December 18th, 2009

The six model countries are:
1. England: exemplifying a Common Law system
2. France: exemplifying a unitary Civil Law system
3. Germany: exemplifying a federal Civil Law system
4. China: exemplifying a Socialist Law system
5. Saudi Arabia: exemplifying a Sacred Legal system
6. Japan: exemplifying a hybrid system (made up of elements of various others but distinctive
Please compare and contrast the six model countries, identify one distinct approach to criminal justice that each of the model countries exemplifies. Or please provide a website that does this.
Thanks!

What is the correct way to restore a Windows XP system from a full backup?

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

I have a full backup prepared with the Windows XP utility. I got a new hard-drive, and after installing XP, tried doing a "Restore" using the utility. This naive approach did not work because it creates a sort of hybrid between the new and the old systems… with files from the recently installed system not fully removed. Is there a way to reformat the C: Drive and restore from backup all in one shot, so that the end-result will be a pristine copy of my originally backed up system?
Thanks!
The two answers so far really miss the point of the question!

If you insert the windows cd, there will be option for for formating/clean install and recovery from back up called known good configuaration.

but I recommend it slightly differently. To be safest, create partition in hard drive. then back up your previous installation there. Install fresh in other drive.

What kind of career involves the nervous system?

Friday, December 11th, 2009

I’m researching different kinds of careers involving neuroscience or the nervous system. I’m very interested in the peripheral nervous system.

I liked the idea of the electroneurodiagnostic (END) technologist except the fact of their pay and I that would like to do more. I liked the hands on approach though.

The maximum amount of schooling I’m considering is 8 years after graduating high school.

What kind of careers involve the nervous system?

nervousoligist….

Is the US judicial system supposed to be corrective or punishing?

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

If the US judicial system is supposed to be based on a corrective approach rather them a punishing approach where does the constitution or other hard evidence back this up?

Are you talking about the criminal justice system? Very often it is neither, because many who commit crimes are never made to account for them.

How can I install a solar heating system on my new pool?

Thursday, November 26th, 2009

We just signed with the pool company today and they will begin the work to install an inground pool in our yard. I’ve asked that they put in the necessary plumbing so that we can add the solar system later (paying approx $400 for 3 pipes?). How difficult is it to do this? Is this something relatively simple/straightforward? I should add that we have a computer control panel, so according to our pool man, we should be able to hook up to it and have it controlled remotely. So my question is, once it’s stubbed for solar, what are the next steps and best cost approach? Any guidance is greatly appreciated!

I installed my own solar system as soon as they finished our pool. I didn’t have them plumb anything for it. There is only one valve you’ll need and one backflow preventer and they both come with the solar system. Then you just cut into the return line and add the valve which will direct the water to your panels or bypass them. Then add a "Tee" for the water to come back from the panels. Nothing to it. And by the way, instead of hooking our solar system up to the control panel, we chose to put in an automatic thermostat control valve.
