What are the differences between marketing approach & marketing process?

Can anyone explain this to me as I am a little bit confuse about this. Thanks.

I think the best way to think of it is like this.

Your marketing approach is your "Strategy".
Your marketing process is your "Tactics".

Now what does that mean?

My plan is to get more customers.

My strategies to do that are…

Direct mail
Sales reps
Newspaper ads
Radio ads
and so on.

See these are all different strategies.

My tactics for direct mail are…

Find a list of my target prospects from the age of 18-34, male, that
have purchased a similar product.

This will be a two step campaign.
Mail, response via 1-800 or Online, mail or download
second piece.

Follow up calls for 1-800
Follow up for autoresponer

Things to consider…
Copy for mail piece
What is my most wanted response?
Copy for download piece.
Copy for 1-800 voice mail
Copy for follow up calls
Copy for autoresponder
Delivery systems
Payment systems
and so on…

See these are some of the tactics to accomplish one of my strategies.

This is all abbreviated, but hopefully you get the idea.

Hope that helped.

  1. MAC Says:

The approach is the idea of how to do it.
The process is actually doing it.
