www.hallgroat.com
In Painting Glass Hall introduces various classical approaches for suggesting the illusions of transparent and reflective glass, and paints a shimmering martini glass, an elegant ivory ashtray from Maxime’s Restaurant in Paris, and a lovely Waterford crystal glass filled with water. Included within the two-hours of demonstrations are brilliant close-up shots of Hall’s traditional brushwork, color mixing techniques, in addition to views of his studio as he discusses his paintings at different points.
Through his innovative, step-by-step approach, he outlines the processes that were used by such traditional 19th century painters as Edgar Degas and Edouard Manet. Using a clear and concise teaching approach, Hall reveals the secrets behind creating masterful paintings of glass, covering such topics as setting up foundation shapes, establishing light and dark value relationships, contrasting warm and cool colors, observing secondary shapes through the glass, and suggesting highlights and details.

Definitions:

Open, white sound-vocal approach when singer is trying to reach passagio and higher register naturaly, without vowel modification but also without proper support that causes unnecessary tention and eventualy break in registers. White sound approach is also to blame for larinx lifting that disrupts integrity in voice

Covered sound or modified vowel technique-
is a method allowing go easy on the passagio and top registers mainly using modifications of the vowels from more open to more closed ones(a-o-ou) and uses this way to ballance raising pressure under vocal folds.

Open throat technique-sometimes called a perfect technique used by Caruso, Shaliapin,
Gigli, Pavarotti, Tebaldi, Bjorling,-vocal approach to passagio using naturaly open throat like in white sound approach but with breathing technique called appogio-or ballanced support. Does not require vowel modification and yet perfectly secure.
Round sound of this technique is caused by lowered larinx and elivated soft palete that sometimes confuses singers taking it for covered technique.

Here, in this programm, you can find history, comparisons and demonstrations of those mentioned above techniques.
